the vision

A Bronx, New York native, Jamaal Womack has dedicated his life to basketball—as a player, coach, and mentor who bridges cultures through the game. After an impressive collegiate career as a standout guard at St. Francis College (2005–2009), Jamaal returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach for eight seasons, shaping the next generation of athletes.

His professional career took him overseas, where he captured a championship with VIS ASD in Reggio Calabria, Italy. There, his love for European basketball and Italian culture deepened, planting the seeds for what would become the Hoops & Heritage Global Society.

Today, Jamaal serves as Co-Director of Rens United, one of the premier grassroots basketball programs in the United States, and also an investing partner with VIS ASD helping develop young athletes competing at the highest levels.

Hoops & Heritage works closely with the European Youth Basketball League (EYBL), the world’s largest youth basketball league serving more than 50 countries and over 6,500 athletes. Rens United made history as the first North American team to participate in the league, helping open the door for greater international collaboration.

Through Hoops & Heritage, Jamaal and his team curate world class experiences for student athletes, offering elite training clinics, international camps, school and college placement opportunities, and meaningful conversations with leaders across sports and education.

The result is more than a basketball program, it’s a global movement designed to elevate athletes’ skills, expand their horizons, and inspire them to see the world through the lens of the game.

the bridge

Hoops & Heritage Global Society, is using their international experience and deep basketball network to build bridges that span oceans—connecting the United States, Europe, and Asia through the universal language of the game. By merging the different perspectives of basketball across these regions, he’s creating pathways for athletes to train, compete, and grow through cross-cultural exchange. His mission is simple but powerful: to use basketball as a vehicle for global understanding, opportunity, and lifelong connection.
